The Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) was founded in 1972 to link and represent Canada`s 175 Canadian post-secondary public colleges, university-colleges and technical institutes.The primary mandate of ACCC member institutionsis to respond to labor market and skills development needs within the context of social and economic development. ACCC members are Canada`s leading providers of human resource development for workplace, excelling as adult education and training institutions and offering technical, technological, professinal, vocational, academic, and service career programs. Since 1979, ACCC has started the expertise of its member institutions internationally by implementing and managing 300 projects in over 70 countries. Supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other regional development banks, governments,la francophonie, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the United Nations and its specialised agencies, the international activities of the Association have proven to be results-oriented, sustainable and highly effective. ACCC provides flexible delivery of all aspects of education and skills training for international market readiness in the following major sectors as well as many other sub-sectors: education, natural resources and enviroment, gender and development, industry and health. Transylvania Business Center started its co-operation with ACCC in July 1999, when the first intern, Mrs. Melanie Thomas, began her internship in our organization.
